I am on placment in a city (town by UK standard) called Lund... i'd say its like a cambridge kinda university town with a super hospital... so I'm learning to do x-rays here, calling myself a nurse (coz thats what they are) and trying to speak as much swedish as I can coz I can't learn no other way fast... maybe the swedes are a little more serious coz I'm the only one laughing at the language mistakes I make... its a good thing i have a supervisor...this week I did my first injection of 'x-ray' contrast.
my head is so full stuff... but I'm having fun I'm hopeful...

thinkings

With my x-ray/radiography degree coming to a soon end, the majority of my mind-space is filled with exciting future thoughts. most of them are dreams... I often have to wake up (I've been taking midday naps... its that time of the year) to the idea that it may be a huge nasty struggle to get there.
It's been my plan for 2 (and a half) of the past 3 of my degree years to not get 'stuck' (like trapped, or stagnated) in a 'radiography job'... but the bigger part of me wants to at least try it... probably coz of all these efforts to get me trained.so it fills me with a scary excitement filled odd feeling to go try it in Sweden (on placement) and possibly (God willing) as a job after.

hmm, placement schmacement, I got bigger reasons to be so excited to go...

...and who (other than God) knows what I should do and when. type='text'>Nightmare

I walked into the staff room, served up a big spoonful of watery soup (with chunky veg and meat) onto my computer keyboard...
"Hey dave, good idea" the crowd said as they sat eating their soup off thier computer keyboards.
as the watery bit drained inbetween the keys leaving behind the chunky veg and meat i feared that this was the end of my computer. but in the back of my head i knew i'd made the right decision.
my friends told me about a bike shop:

"I stole this awesome bike from there and £5000 last night"
the following night I watched as they robbed this bike shop again... the next night i decided I'd go rob it too.
after a successful job i sat in my room with my stolen bike, clothing rack of fancy dress clothing(also stolen from the bike shop) and £10,000 and thought about how i'd explain this to my dad. I eventually decided to give the bike back but my friends where having to much fun trying on the fancy dress's.
from here on my dream became wierdly horrible (the ending being trying to get out the hospital full of mutant zombies).

this dream has a strong theme of giving into peer-pressure and it leaving me feeling bad. just coz everyone else is eating soup off thier computer keyboards and robbing a specific bike shop every night doesn't make it right... by joining in i was popular but was left with regret and a mess, a stolen bike and a broken computer and 'how do I explain this'.

end of placement

everything is so far off distant... sitting on stairs as men in bathtowels pass by on thier way to and from bathrooms I hear about 'what you can remember to tell me' happenings from those i talk to on the phone... and sure, being given the microwave is nice and im sure that it was nice to see me... but i don't even need a microwave and aaa i don't want to sit on stairs, its starting to get to me.

so, in the end im glad im home... down for breakfast (which is cooked for me) and out comes the huge 'family size' pot of tea... during the week the B&B is full of workmen, which means dirty breakfast conversations (which i haven't been joining in with). i don't think its wierd to think my life in truro is a bit odd.
i now have a microwave and fridge (which are my only cooking facilities).... by the time im out of here, i'll be a master of microwave cookings, maybe i could write a book. the landlady was kind enough to give me the key to the part of the house with a pay-telephone and the telephone number type='text'>work .pt2

my dream last night was - i was walking down the street (posting books) when a car drove past but the driver was asleep... i ran and shouted and half closed my eyes as the car headed towards a house... the driver woke up and stopped before hitting the house.
she was young and had blood and puss and gloopy green bile soaked bandages wrapped around her abdomen arm and hand... and it stank. i asked her if she had seen a doctor, she said no. so i offered to take her to the hospital... we climbed into the car opened the windows wide and she directed me to a doctors surgury... i got a little suspicious to why she had directed me there coz it was late and everybody knows that it was going to be closed... she was like "oh my, look, its closed, oh shame lets go home"... i was like "no way, im taking you to A&E"
so we walked back to the car and she began taking her bandages off... it was then that i rememebered that i had herd about her condition before... it was a disease and highly contajus. she was trying to infect me!!! so i ran to the car but had no time to get in as she tryed to shove her pussy biley type='text'>Job

well, today i started my job. my job is posting Thomson phone books in letter boxes... i have 3 routes.
today was 'pick up' day... but i had no car (not back from MOT)... so my dad being nice and stuff drove me there during his lunch break.
it turned out that it was good that my car wasn't avalible and my dad was there... there was a huge magnitude of A LOT of books. it took me and my dad 3 trips (big car & trailer) to collect all the books which im roughly guessing without much thinking would take me 20 trips in my mini. things like that make me smile coz at first i was annoyed that i didn't have my car, but now i glad i didn't.
the dining room is now full of books, and my dad had to have a very very long lunch break.

Thomson local phone books used to have a cat as thier trademark... i guess they figured out that people might take more attention of thier book if they use a woman in a cat suit as thier trademark.

i like this job so far, its interesting seeing peoples houses, gardens and letter boxes... a smiley old lady said "I don't need one"
"are you sure"
"yes, im sure, i'll never use it"
"ok"
"ok"..."ok"..."ok"..."ok, go on then i'll have
